For this evening’s presentation, Matthew Granda will speak about the benefits of testing your Python code, different types of tests, an example of how to start writing unit tests, and more advanced practices such as mocking and patching!

Some stuff we'll cover includes:

  • Different types of testing
  • Tutorial on how to use unit tests
  • Introduction to mocking and patching

Please be courteous and make sure to RSVP as we will have limited food and seating.

This event will be live-streamed on Zoom/YouTube for those that want to join but are unable to make it on-site.

An array of finger sandwiches made with Boar's Head deli meats and cheeses

  • Top Round Roast Beef with Swiss cheese served on fresh pumpernickel bread with Grey Poupon mustard packets
  • Oven Roasted Sliced Chicken Breast served on fresh hearty wheat bread with Kraft Mayo packets
  • Grapes covered in cream cheese dusted with pistachio nuts

Italian Pasta Salad (ingredients: tricolor pasta with fresh sliced Genoa Salami, Virginia Baked Ham, grated Mozzarella, and cherries tomatoes tossed with Balsamic Vinaigrette)

  • The venue is a historical building, as such, it is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Please safely use GPS navigation to get to the event, there are entrances to the parking lot on W Kathleen St and W Aileen St.
  • There will be plenty of parking, just avoid named spots.
  • The entrance to the event is on the West side of the building, you will ascend the first of two flights of stairs to find glass doors into the building, and then directly to your left you will ascend the second flight of stairs into the event space. You will see a long hallway, head towards the sign and you will find the seating area!
  • Feel free to mingle, eat some food, and stake out a spot to sit.
