Meet and Greet @ Kaleisia Tea

Hello and welcome to the inaugural meeting of Tampa's Big Body Babes! We will be meeting on 2/11/23 at 3:00pm at Kaleisia Tea Lounge (1441 E Fletcher Ave Suite 101, Tampa, FL 33612). There is no formal agenda, this is a time to meet each other and collectively brainstorm what we envision for this group and what activities we would like to do. I will have some fun icebreaker games as well. Please feel free to come by yourself or bring a friend. This is my first time starting a meetup group so I would love your presence. I will have a sign posted at the table so you can find me. Big Body Babes is a space for fat people to build community and have fun together. We embrace the word "fat" and reject the stigma surrounding it, but if you haven’t reclaimed “fat” just yet, that’s okay! Our community is designed for people to connect, build lasting friendships, and to have a safe space to adventure together - think eating out, going to the beach, plus-size clothing swaps, walking trails and more. This group will be free of diet talk, intentional weight loss talk, body shaming, ableism, and healthism, but FULL of fat acceptance, body liberation, fat friendships and fat joy. We welcome fat people of all identities and backgrounds and aim to make sure everyone feels comfortable, welcome and safe.
