"National Goof Off Day" Game Night! March 22, 2025

March 22 National Goof Off Day - - What better way to celebrate goofing off than coming to a fun night out playing games and . . . . goofing off!!

Deb has been hosting a game night in New Port Richey for several years, but moving forward, we both wanted to drive a bit less, so we started a local group for us. It got off to a great start in February; thanks to all that attended, I think we all had a great time “Meeting-Up”!! In New Port Richey, we often had 20-30 people attend, although there will be a limit of about 30 people due to the room size. Please RSVP for staffing and also because of the room size limitations. If you have trouble reserving on Meet-Ups, please call me and leave a message at 833-548-9998; thank you! (notice this is not an 813 area code) If, for any reason, you cannot attend after RSVP'ing, please mark yourself as not coming and/or call and leave me a message at 833-548-9998 (notice that this is not an 813 area code) so I can keep the restaurant up to date with our count of people.
We are not a D&D type of game group. However, we play a variety of card and board games, such as various trivia games, Uno, Yahtzee, 3Up/3Down, Deer in the Headlights, Sorry, Ticket to Ride, Rummikub, and Sequence, just for starters. At our inaugural Game Night, I played Uno, 3Up – 3Down, and Letter Pool (for the first time). I saw Apples to Apples & Exploding Kittens being played at other tables.
Adults of all ages are welcome, including those married, single, young & old. Please remember Winners Sports Grill is not charging us to allow us to play there. Please consider thanking them by buying something to eat or drink while we are there. And, of course, remember to tip our server(s). With this being a new group and the restaurant unfamiliar to us, we ask everyone to be patient with the server(s) and service; hopefully, if there are any bumps, we can iron them out in future events here!
Everyone will enjoy dinner from 4:45pm until about 6:00pm or until everyone is finished. The game playing will start after everyone eats. We will play until about 10pm when the restaurant closes, but come and go whenever you want. We will always try to fit you into whatever is being played.
This Game Night outing will be at the Winners Sports Grill in the shopping center @ Hutchison & Ehrlich @ 5229 Ehrlich Rd, Tampa, behind/next to the cleaners. Please do NOT utilize the Meet-Up map location of Winners Sports Gill on Gunn Hwy, as they moved several years ago! I've contacted Meet-up, asking them to correct this so we don't have this unnecessary confusion. They are located at the corner of Hutchison Rd & Ehrlich Rd, 5229 Ehrlich Rd, Tampa, FL. Using Veterans Expressway, you can get off at either Hutchison Rd (Exit 12, then South) or Ehrlich Rd (Exit 10, then East) exits. If you tend to get cold, please bring a sweater or jacket, although we were very comfortable when checking out the restaurant. After our first group meeting, several of us, including me, felt the room become warm, so we are bringing a small fan to help with this in the future.
We expect to break into smaller groups to play games after dinner. Last but not least, because we all have a variety of political opinions and backgrounds, let us all steer clear of political conversations so everyone can have a great time!
