National Cherry Cobbler Day - Saturday May 17, 2025

Saturday, May 17th is National Cherry Cobbler Day as well as 'Armed Forces Day' – so thank you to all that served in any of our military branches! In addition to saluting our service members (and of course veterans) – come hang out with us for a relaxed evening full of fun, laughter, and board games.
We are continuing to build something special right here in the Tampa area. Many of you know Deb has hosted a popular Game Night in New Port Richey for several years – and while that group is still going strong, we’re excited to grow this new group closer to home. With a few months under our belt, it's really starting to feel like we’re creating something fun and welcoming right here.
Game Night will be held again at the front room of Winners Sports Grill – 5229 Ehrlich Rd, Tampa, FL – in the shopping center at Hutchison & Ehrlich, next to/behind the dry cleaners. Please make sure you do NOT follow the outdated Meet-Up map location for Winners Grill on Gunn Hwy – they moved years ago, and I’ve asked Meet-Up to correct this multiple times (they’re slow!).
We’ll be arriving a little before dinner, with dining planned from about 4:45 PM until around 6:00 PM, or whenever everyone finishes eating. Game playing will begin once folks have had a chance to eat. You’re welcome to arrive earlier, come late, or leave whenever you like — we usually play until about 9 or 10:00 PM when the restaurant closes.
We’re not a D&D or heavy strategy game group. We tend to focus on fun, lighter games — past nights have included things like Uno, Yahtzee, 3Up/3Down, trivia-style games, Sorry, Rummikub, Ticket to Ride, Sequence, Apples to Apples, Exploding Kittens, and more. Feel free to bring a game you love (ideally something that works with 3+ players).
Please RSVP on Meet-Up so we can let the restaurant know how many to expect. If you troubles RSVP'ing or RSVP and then can’t attend, please update your RSVP and/or call me at 833-548-9998 (note: not an 813 number) so I can keep our count accurate for the restaurant. Seating is limited to around 30 people.
The restaurant is kind enough to let us use the front room at no cost, so please consider buying food or drinks while you’re there, and don’t forget to tip your server(s). The service has been good, but it’s a new setup for them getting used to us, so let’s be patient if any hiccups arise. If you tend to get chilly, you might bring a sweater; or, if we get a large crowd, it might warm up a bit — we do bring a small fan just in case, last time it was warm, but much cooler than in the past!
As always, let’s keep things fun and welcoming by avoiding political conversations — we’ve got enough variety in personalities that it’s best to keep things light so everyone can relax and enjoy.
