Franklin Yamamoto presents: "When Developers Go Bad"

Many times performance problems get blamed on the database. At the root many performance problems are database related; however, in many cases these are the result of coding practices. In this presentation I will describe some common scenarios that I've seen cause performance problems. I will also show how some of these are the result of default behavior exposed by .Net APIs and how to avoid said default behavior.

About Franklin:

Franklin started his career x-base programming to help pay for beer while in college. Following college he went on to work for fortune 500 companies where he gained experience performance tuning high transaction volume systems. Franklin eventually went on to start a consulting practice specializing in performance tuning. Recognizing a need for updated performance monitoring tools, and tools that are compatible with today's cloud databases, Franklin started SQLGrease.

Franklin holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona which he never uses on a daily basis.
