Howard Beach Ride - UPDATED

Details
Rolling at 6:30AM from 54 & The Suncoast.
Updated version of the Howard Beach ride. The updated route adds a few miles but eliminates the scary portion of the ride, Tarpon Springs Rd. (please see route photo).
Meet at 54 and Suncoast, ride to and through Starkey Park, south on Starkey Bvld, Starkey Gap Trail down to Tarpon Springs Rd, out to Tarpon Springs and back. The new route is 64 miles. As the name of the ride implies we will stop at Howard Beach, relax, and take in the view. We will stop at a convenience store in Tarpon Springs. A large portion of the ride will be on trails, 85%, but please bring a tail light for the 15% of the ride that is on the roads.
Options
Base ride: 64 mile and is described above.
Less Miles: Turn around before we get to Howard Beach and go back the same route. I know, not a great option.
More Miles: Start at Winn Dixie, now an Aldi at Gunn Hwy and Van Dyke, this adds 14 miles.
Check out the photo of the route or access the full route on Strava.

Please be able to maintain 20-22 mph pace line wind permitting. Ideally, we will stick together as a group but be aware if you are not in physical condition to maintain the designated pace you could be dropped. If the pace of the ride is difficult for you take short pulls or no pulls. We would rather have you stay with the group then drop. If you start feeling sick on the ride please notify the ride leader immediately, we will do our best to help you. Note we stop for all mechanicals.
Cycling trivia of the week:
Who was the first non european to win the Tour de France? Question to be answered in the pre ride talk.
All riders are expected to ride in a pace line safely. New riders are expected to hang in the rear of the group to get acclimated. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time so the group can discuss the plans, introduce new riders and leave on time.
Everyone rides at their own risk and this group assumes no responsibility for any injuries. Team Elite is not responsible for any injuries that may occur during any event we host. Paceline experience is expected if you want to attend this group ride.
