Alejandro is our tour guide.
There is no speed limit here because the terrain has some hilly portions (1,300 elevation). We will try to keep the speed in the 21-22 range on the flats wind permitting and riders can pull 1-2 miles at that speed. BUT: Don’t burn yourself out pulling too long & making it hard to keep the group together. Also, do not accerate and/or attack any hills because we want to keep the group together. Be careful on the down hills, using the guide Alejandro to help guide your line on these decents along with your bike computers which will warn you of any acute turns. This is a relatively flat course so we should move at a good clip. All riders are expected to ride in a pace line safely. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time so the group can discuss the plans, introduce guide and leave on time.
Everyone rides at their own risk and this group assumes no responsibility for any injuries. This is a nice paved 4 lane road with a median that is newer & along the coast. We did this same route last year and it is generally a safe plenty wide for cyclists. Costa Rica drivers can be crazy but this route was safe last year so we are repeating it. We are leaving earlier to minimize traffic which is typically light before noon. We will have a van and two local cyclist to help us navigated the route. Obey all the traffic rules. The van will have equipment for any mechanicals.
Team Elite is not responsible for any injuries that may occur during any event we host. Paceline experience and an appetite for adventure is expected if you want to attend this group.
