Java on ChatGPT: Building a Plugin From Scratch

The ChatGPT neural network can be enhanced and customized using plugins. For example, the Expedia plugin equips the AI with up-to-date information on lodging pricing and availability, enabling users to book their next destination directly through the ChatGPT UI.

In this session, you will gain hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) by building a Java plugin for ChatGPT from the ground up. We will start with the fundamentals, creating an application that integrates Spring AI with OpenAI APIs for a range of natural language processing (NLP) tasks. Following that, we'll significantly boost the application's responsiveness using the Postgres pgvector extension, which enables NLP searches within the database. Finally, we will package the refined version of the app as a ChatGPT Java plugin, making it accessible to the millions who use the chat platform daily.
