Volunteer-run Weds evening social pickleball at HCC - weather permitting - $6.50+tax for non-HCC pickleball membership holders - CREDIT CARD ONLY, and free for HCC pickleball membership holders.
As volunteers, we place signs up to aid in choosing on which courts you'd like to play and then we usually mix in as well. Volunteers may not stay all evening.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED (NEW): Starting Mon, July 24, HCC will be requiring that you register through their Portal or App instead of just showing up. HCC has heard the feedback regarding wait times for our open play and are instilling changes which aim to minimize wait times, keep play moving, and prioritize the HCC members. They are currently in a situation where the growth of open play and pickleball as a whole is exceeding the court space they have available. They are now dedicating a 9th court for open play on Mon/Wed night (up from 8) as well as bringing registration for open play in-house so they can accurately track attendance and keep it to a manageable level where people can play continuously throughout the night. HCC also just signed the proposal to add 4 more courts, bringing their total to 15 total courts very soon.
Registration for open play will open 7 days in advance for members on their player portal and mobile app. It will be 5 days in advance for non-members. The cost will remain the same - free for members and $6.50 + tax for non-members.
Please see steps below to get registered.
1. Create a player portal account with HCC here: https://hcctennis.clubautomation.com/
2. Once you have an account created, navigate to the "group activities" tab and find either open play Mondays or open play Wednesdays.
3. Select the open play day you want to sign up for and then register/submit payment.

BEGINNERS: There are NO INSTRUCTORS, so it's preferred that you know how to play and have your own equipment (paddle and balls) before attending. This includes knowing how to serve, how to hit a ball over the net, and how to move safely up to the non-volley zone. Here is a great @ 2-minute pickleball explainer video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTvPYdKZqO0, and feel free to search YouTube for others. Additionally, you can search the internet for certified pickleball instructors to help learn the basics. Plus HCC often has beginner clinics you can find through their portal/app mentioned above.

FORMAT: We reserve 9 courts (4 people on each). Courts 14 and 15 are generally lighter play. Courts 16, 17, 20 and 21 are generally intermediate level, and courts 24 and 25 are generally reserved for more advanced play. And we will be adding a challenge court. This may be adjusted due to turnout. Look for the signs ported on each court. There will likely be wait times. To minimize the wait times, we play to 9 - win by 1, and take all 4 players off the court IF there are 4 or more waiting. You may place your paddle in the holder on ANY court to be next up to play on that court.

FACILITIES: There are bathroom facilities available to the left and right outside of the check-in desk area. There are water fountains/hydration stations to fill your water bottles. There are no vending machines, so bring your own hydration and snacks. There are small bleachers, benches and chairs around for sitting.
