Skyway Fishing Pier State Park is a Florida State Park located on the north and south sides of the mouth of Tampa Bay. When the original cantilevered Sunshine Skyway Bridge, carrying I-275, partially collapsed in 1980, due to the collision of a freighter on one of its pilings, it was replaced by the current bridges Petersburg with Sarasota, the old bridge was turned into the world's longest fishing pier. Anglers love being able to park their cars within a few feet of their favorite fishing spot. **The bridge is lighted at night, so anglers can see to rig a line and bait the hook, and get a good look at their catch.**What fish are biting at the Skyway fishing pier?

To get there, just stay on the highway over the skyway bridge. There will be signs for the fishing pier and you just follow the signs and those will take you to the ticket booth at the entrance. You will pay four dollars per vehicle and four dollars per person fishing, The pass you get is good for 24 hours, so you can leave and come back . There is a north side and a south side we will be on the Southside more room and better fishing. They have bathrooms, and a bait shop .
So get ready to do some fishing get your beach chairs your fishing gear a cooler for soda and beer make some sandwiches and let's go fishing.
You do not need a fishing license to fish from the old Skyway Bridge fishing pier. But if you bring alcohol be discreet drink it in a cup not a can or bottle.
