Do you ever wonder what it's like to be a UX Researcher? What does their typical day look like? How do they setup/run research projects? How do they know what research methods to us?

Join us to hear stories from 3 experienced UX Researchers and get all your questions answered (or at least all the questions they can answer in the time allowed). Find out how their experiences, good and bad, can help us all become better UX practitioners, co-workers, and advocates.

Panelists
Krissy Scoufis
A Human Centered Problem Solver, User Experience Strategist, Researcher, Visual Designer and Mentor. She has spent the last two decades evangelizing Human Centered Design and promoting Design Thinking strategies for companies in diverse industries across the United States. She is the founder of the award winning Tampa Bay UX Meetup Community of Practice. Her mission is to promote User Centered research strategies to guide the design and development of digital products to ensure the right products are being built in the right way. She is currently the VP of Research and Innovation for Regions Bank, managing a team of specialists who’s insights guide strategic, product and continuous improvement decisions for Regions digital products. Her team finds ways to make banking easier, regardless of age, gender, race, financial ability or financial knowledge and gives customers greater confidence in their ability to make financial decisions.

Karen Bachmann
With over 20 years of experience supporting teams in all phases of user-centered design, Karen has worked with various industries including financial services, scholarly publishing, retail, insurance, technology, education, and energy. She uses a wide range of research techniques to explore and define problems thoroughly to help identify the best, holistic solutions that fit the organization's need. Karen regularly presents on research, design, and fundamental professional skills at international and regional professional conferences and to local business groups and meetups.

Erika George
As Lead UX Researcher at PSCU, Erika is responsible for understanding the needs of credit union staff, cardholders, and PSCU employees. Through interviews, observations, mapping exercises, and other research methods, she seeks out friction points in various digital journeys to provide insights on how to create better experiences. Leveraging 20 years of financial services experience and a UX certification through the Nielson Norman Group, Erika socializes the user’s story and helps the team translate the insights into UX design.
