Join us for a morning hike at Golden Aster Scrub Nature Preserve, a unique Hillsborough County preserve known for its scrub habitat, sandy trails, and native Florida plants — including the rare golden aster the preserve is named for.

Trail details:

  • Distance: ~3.26 miles
  • Flat, sandy trails (This is a pretty sandy trail.)
  • Mostly sunny with limited shade

What to bring:

  • Plenty of water
  • Comfortable walking shoes (sand-friendly)
  • Sun protection (hat, sunscreen)
  • Bug spray (recommended)

Parking:
Free parking available at the preserve entrance.
This is a relaxed, welcoming group hike — perfect for all experience levels. Come solo or bring a friend; we’ll regroup as needed and keep a steady, manageable pace. Leashed dogs are welcome if they’re comfortable with sandy terrain and warmer conditions.
