Join the Tampa Hiking Group for a moderately challenging morning hike on the Orange Trail at Colt Creek State Park. This approximately 8-mile loop travels through pine flatwoods, cypress areas and open stretches of Central Florida wilderness. The trails are multiuse, so we may encounter bicyclists or horseback riders along the way.

Bring plenty of water, electrolytes, sun protection, insect repellent and sturdy hiking shoes. August conditions may be hot, humid, muddy or wet, so dress accordingly. Florida State Parks also recommends carrying a trail map and remaining on marked trails.
This is a longer summer hike, so participants should be comfortable maintaining a steady group pace for approximately eight miles.

Dogs are welcome only if permitted by current park rules and able to safely complete the distance and heat. We will not be bringing Zeus.
