Join us for a Saturday morning hike at Hillsborough River State Park! We'll explore the Baynard Trail and the currently accessible portion of the Rapids Trail, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the Hillsborough River.
The park opens at 8:00 AM. We'll meet in Parking Lot 3 and be ready to step off at 8:15 AM.

Trail conditions: I checked out the trails Sunday morning, and they weren't too wet. However, conditions will depend on rainfall leading up to our hike. Be prepared for possible mud, wet areas and changes to our planned route.

# Important: Mosquitoes and ticks

The mosquitoes at this park are genuinely the worst I've ever encountered. I also found a tick on myself after my visit.
Bug spray is not optional for this hike. Even long sleeves and pants will not be enough on their own.
With the ongoing dengue fever outbreak in Hillsborough County, please take this warning seriously.

• Apply an EPA-registered insect repellent before arriving and bring some to reapply as directed.
• Wear long pants, long sleeves and closed-toe shoes.
• Check yourself carefully for ticks after the hike.

If you're especially sensitive to mosquitoes or unable to use insect repellent, this may not be the hike for you.
Bring plenty of water, comfortable hiking shoes and your sense of adventure. We'll enjoy the trails while staying flexible about conditions and respecting all posted trail closures.
