In this presentation we will take a look at some good parts of Scala programming language for production use in Data Analytics, learn some main concepts used in popular Spark and take a look at simple recommendation system implementation with Spark.

Lauri Niskanen (https://www.linkedin.com/in/lauriniskanen) has worked close to 20 years in ICT sector in varying positions from R&D to Business Development, and has educational background in signal processing, measurement technlogies and math from Tampere University of Technology and Chalmers Univesity of Technlogy in Sweden. He has trained himself to Data Science over last two years time, and is focusing on Maching Learning.
