Summer Junk

Hi everyone! Join us for our annual summer junk! Enjoy floating around for a day of queerness, tasty Thai food, and lots of cool water toys. This year we’ve upgraded to a boat that comes with an inflatable slide, gyro, and seesaw, as well as the usual mat and noodles (pictured).

Lunch includes a Thai set menu of chicken and beef satay, fish cakes, prawn rolls, chicken salad, shrimp wraps, pork neck, chicken curry with rice, seafood fried rice, and a dessert of lemon cheesecake. Please bring your own water and alcohol.

The final ticket price with lunch will be $675pp if we fill the boat with 40ppl. As a community, we wish to ensure our events remain accessible on price, so do check out our donation & subsidy scheme in the notes below.

If you’re not a strong swimmer, don’t worry there are life vests to float around in. If you’re concerned about being peopled out, don’t worry - our introverts can usually be found quietly chilling or napping on the upper deck by mid-afternoon. As ever, we’re a body positive group that appreciates being ourselves! So come and relax with us!

Please note:

1. Places are assigned on a first paid basis. If we don’t receive your $415 deposit within 24hrs of your RSVP, we may move you to the waitlist.
2. The final ticket price will be due once we have the final guest list - which is when we reach 40 RSVPs or at 3 weeks before the event, whichever is sooner. Failure to pay the final ticket within 24hrs of the final guest list being announced may mean loss of your deposit and being moved to the waitlist.
3. The final ticket price will be determined by the total number of people on the final guest list. If we fill the boat with 40ppl the final ticket price will be $675. But if for example, we only book 30ppl the ticket cost will rise to $897.
4. If you’re not having the set lunch, we will deduct the Thai menu from your final ticket price.
5. The deposit and ticket are both non-refundable once paid. If you can’t make it, you’ll have to find your own replacement.
6. Donations: if you’d like to donate to subsidise some tickets to support our group’s diversity and accessibility please DM Tin for the amount you’d like to pledge.
7. Subsidised Tickets: if you’d really struggle with the cost and would like a subsidised ticket please DM Tin to be added to the list. The total donated amount will be split evenly to subsidise those who have signed up.
8. Donors & Subsidy Recipients will be kept completely confidential and only Tin will know who these people are.
9. Storms: If there is a T3 or above or Black Rain, the event will be rescheduled. The rescheduled date will be subject to the boat's availability.
10. Tickets remain non-refundable in the case of rescheduling due to a storm. If you can’t make the rescheduled date you will need to find your own replacement.
11. If our team can’t communicate with you we will move you to the waitlist; please enable DMs from other members and turn on notifications.
12. If you sign up, but can no longer make it, please update your RSVP as soon as possible. Updating your RSVP well ahead of the event allows us to manage the waitlist; allow other people to attend; know who to look out for at the start of the event; and manage any relevant bookings, such as the food order.
13. If you didn’t update your RSVP for a previous event, we will move you to the waitlist for all future events until we hear from you to confirm you understand these conditions.
