Sounds fancy, doesn’t it?? Chiaroscuro (kee-AR-ə-SKOOR-oh) Tangling techniques will open up more ideas and possibilities in your tangling!!
During the Renaissance period, a drawing technique called Chiaroscuro emerged in the fine art world. These types of drawings were done on subtly colored or toned paper, usually gray or tan. Using the paper as a neutral starting point, the artist would then use white pencil or paint to work towards light or to create highlights and then use black ink and graphite to work towards dark or create shading, also creating a 3D look.
Supplies you will need:
v Black and Brown Micron pen.
v Tan Zentangle Tile (or tan paper)
v White Charcoal pencil
v Graphite pencil (Good old No2 pencil works great!)
v 2 tortillions (or something to blend the graphite and white charcoal

Video Conferencing information:
At the moment, I do not use Zoom. I use a professional business platform called Elevate Online Meeting. If this is your first time in one of my classes, please allow extra time to connect. You can click the link early to see what happens. If it prompts downloading the app/program, click cancel to just use your browser. For more information on joining my meeting, click HERE.

If you try the link before I have started the session it should offer to notify you when I start it. Go ahead and do that. I do try to start it 5-10 minutes prior to the start time.

Please ensure you are able to use this platform prior to the live class and know that the recording will be made available via YouTube. Full Refunds will only be made if I need to cancel the class for some reason. In the case of an exception, I reserve the right to make a refund less any fees I am charged.

Contact me via email: heather@tangleaddicts.com, prior to the session, if you have concerns about using this platform.

For best results:

  • Make sure your device is plugged in or has a good charge.
  • Be close to your WiFi Source and if you can be the only person on your WiFi, that helps with bandwidth.
  • Exit other programs on your computer or device.
  • Be ready to have some creative fun!!

Session etiquette: We kindly ask that everyone keep their webcams off, and mic's muted during the class so everyone has a great experience. Use the chat feature for questions (and fun!). At the end, we have the "big reveal" and everyone that wants to, opens their webcams to show off their results - and so I can take a screenshot.
