Tao River Taiji and Qigong in Griffith Park
Details
ABOUT: On Tuesday and Thursday mornings members are welcome to meet in Griffith Park for unlimited practice sessions together in the fresh air. Together, we will learn and integrate a long form Taiji as well as multiple Qigong sets derived primarily from Wu style Taiji, as taught by Grandmaster Tenshin Hirakawa of Tenshin-Kai. These include traditional Qigong A and B sets as well as a variation on the Ba Duan Jin, called 8 Dimensions. Our practice also includes Tibetan Sound Healing and Standing Meditation.
New students are welcome to enjoy two complimentary sessions before deciding to join as a member.
Note: No classes March 28, April 2, 4, and 9 due to annual training trip to Japan.
Tuesday and Thursday: 8-9am
All levels welcome.
WHERE:
(PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF LOCATION):
We meet in Griffith Park, through the entrance off of Canyon Drive. This is a smaller and quieter entrance to Griffith Park. Drive up Canyon Drive until the street enters the park, and continue until you see a large unpaved parking area on your right. Park anywhere in there and take the path down towards the picnic area. There is a small redwood grove and a bubbling stream with a flat shaded area where we can practice and enjoy the gifts of this quiet natural spot. It’s a lovely space to practice in that encourages us to drop into our connection with nature.
WEAR: Anything you feel comfortable in that you can move in! Loose clothing and flat-soled shoes are great choices.
RAIN: We do not practice in the rain.
