White Christian Nationalism did not happen overnight and to combat its influence, we must learn its history in order to understand that it's not only a rhetoric, but currently shaping law, policy, and culture in the United States.

Rev. Alyssa Aldape will provide a brief historical overview and outline the ultimate goals of Christian Nationalism. She will highlight key figures and long-standing strategies used to advance this movement and offer practical steps we can take to create meaningful change.

Rev. Alyssa Aldape is the Faith Organizer and Programs Manager at Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. Prior to her arrival at AU, Alyssa worked as an organizer with the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice. Alyssa is an ordained Baptist minister and loves working at the intersection of faith and justice. She graduated from Mercer University, McAfee School of Theology with a Master of Divinity and from Samford University with a Bachelor of Arts in History.  When Alyssa is not talking about religious freedom and church-state separation, she’s hiking with her husband, Nick, and their pup, Weller.
