The TGA is a membership-based organisation, offfering those with an interest in Tarot the opportunity to become Interest or Professional Members. The Perth group holds monthly meetings which are open to both members and non-members of The Guild.
The primary aim of the TGA is to raise public interest and awareness of the Tarot, to promote the study of the Tarot, to maintain ethical standards in the practice of reading Tarot via professional certification and to provide a network for further education and sharing information amongst members.
The TGA offers Tarot events and workshops in major Australian cities and provides an opportunity to connect and network with like-minded individuals while learning about the Tarot.

How? Viewing when pairing the 22 Major Arcana Cards offers a deeper insight into their meaning!
Presented by Jo Watkins
This workshop is designed to delve deeper into the meanings of the Major Arcana cards, using the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot deck. It uses a pairing technique to aid insight into the duplicate or similar symbols in each card's artwork. Have you ever considered pairing the Death card with the Moon card to explore the common symbol? To assist in the depth of a reading. What do The Tower card and The Devil card have in common? Introducing layouts and showing us how to approach Tarot readings in a more expansive, layered way. We will read cards in groups, explore patterns of symbols, and uncover deeper connections across the cards' meanings. Each technique adds a new dimension to our understanding of the Major Arcana cards and how they interact when viewed in pairs. This workshop has been created for all levels and especially welcomes beginners, whether you’re just starting or ready to expand your skills.
Please bring a Rider-Waite Smith Tarot deck and pen; if you don't have an RWS tarot deck, we will help to provide one.Biography:
I’m a Virgo, born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. I have given life to two fire signs, for whom I give gratitude for supporting me throughout my Tarot journey. I have been a tarot enthusiast for three decades, and a psychic working with the energy and guidance from my spirit guides. I relish sharing my knowledge about tarot through my artwork, readings, writing, and teaching, including being the author/artist of three tarot decks and two tarot Colouring books, self-published in Australia. My relationship with the Tarot began in the early 1990s, when I first encountered the RiderWaite-Smith Tarot Deck. Throughout my Tarot journey, the RWS has remained my key inspiration for creating Tarot and reading decks.
2008 – I began teaching tarot to beginners as a night-school lecturer at TAFE colleges across the Perth metropolitan area and the Southwest of Western Australia.
2017 – Created a beginner’s guidebook for students titled Tarot for Beginners and attended the UK Tarot Conference in London as a Key Speaker, presenting on the Six Important Key Factors of the Tarot. 2018- Became a Professional Member of The Tarot Guild of Australia, and opened the Perth, Western Australia branch affiliated with the guild.
2022- I have established the first Western Australia Tarot conference, held annually in Fremantle, with interested parties attending from all over the country, and attracting international guest speakers and supporting local guest speakers. The 2026 conference is proud to announce that Mary K Greer will be our featured Guest Speaker from America, and Lisa Porter from Australia, who has created Mystic Martian Oracle and Mystical Realm Tarot. The dates for 2026 are Saturday, 21st March, and Sunday, 22nd March 2026.
