9:00am Alleghany County 52 miles, Fiddlers' Loop

Details
A Labor Day weekend ride on the cooler, beautifully quiet back roads in the mountains of Alleghany County, NC, about 2-1/2 hours from Chapel Hill. We'll head up into Virginia near Galax and return on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/52332242
**Note**: RWGPS is not updated to allow routing on the Blue Ridge Parkway from mileposts 221.8-229.7 (VA state line to US21), which recently re-opened. At mile 46 in the route, we will stay on the Parkway at BRP milepost 229.7 instead of exiting onto US 21, and continue on the BRP to Mtn View Rd/Shawtown at mp 225.3.
Park at Glade Creek Elementary School, corner of Glade Creek School Rd and Glade Valley Rd. Rest stop options are very limited, so plan for only a water stop only around mile 25 at the Blue Ridge Music Center. There is also a Dollar General at mile 6, if needed.
Planning for a B17-18 effort to yield 13-14mph, finishing around 1:00pm.
Optional post-ride lunch at Los Queretanos Taqueria/Tienda, a quarter-mile from the start/finish. (Excellent tacos and burritos! Al pastor recommended.)
Your responsibility as part of the group is to RSVP and supply your own cue sheet or download the GPS file.
It is Tarwheels policy for all riders to sign the ride waiver before coming out to the ride.
