Hike not Bike - Eno River State Park, Howe Street Entrance
Details
Monday morning is a great morning for a hike. Consider joining us at 9 a.m. for an out and back on the Laurel Bluffs Trail beginning at the 4950 Howe Street, Durham entrance. This trailhead is a short walk along the Cabelands and the Quarry trail to connect with this section. We will do an out and back with a round trip of approximately 5 miles. There are a lot of trails in this area so it is easier to add or subtract distance.
The plan will be to depart from the parking lot at 9:00 a.m. and with a leisurely pace we will be back in just under two hours.
Please RSVP in case of any changes. Bring some water and a snack. As a cycling club, our hikes adopt the "Leave no Trace" principles, see below for details.
Participants must complete the Tarwheels Hike E-waiver:

Our hikes are Leave No Trace. Leave nothing behind but your footprints. Take nothing but memories and pictures. Everything you bring with you should be carried back out, including banana peels, orange peels, pistachio shells, etc. Deposit them in the nearest trash can. Other hikers do not want to see our trash. Take nothing with you. Not even a seemingly insignificant item in the dirt. Leave it for others to see. They are also generally protected by law.
Adults +/- hardy teenagers only.
Max of 2 dogs per hiker. Non-retractable lead less than 6'; dogs must be friendly with other passing or in-group dogs.
