Taunton Area Walkers & Socialisers (TAWS)
A friendly walking and social group for people in their 40s and upwards, based in Somerset.
Everyone is welcome, and you don’t need to know anyone to join. If you’re new to groups or coming alone, you’ll be warmly welcomed. Every walk and event has a host who will help you settle in and meet others.
What we do 🚶🍷 Walks for a range of abilities. Social events (drinks, meals, get-togethers). Events most weeks, including weekends and mid-week. All events are hosted
💡 New ideas welcome — members are encouraged to suggest or organise walks and events, with support from the organisers.

Walks 🚶‍♀️ Walks are graded by distance and terrain. Please read event details and choose what suits your fitness.

Participation is at your own risk. No professional guides or first aiders. No liability accepted for injury, loss or damage. By attending an event, you accept these conditions.
Practical points Bring suitable footwear, clothing and equipment. Tell the walk leader about any relevant medical conditions. Walk leaders may decline participation if someone is not suitably equipped
Dogs 🐕 Well-behaved dogs welcome at the walk leader’s discretion. Dogs must be under control and follow the Countryside Code.
Guests 👥 Guests only with organiser permission. Members are responsible for ensuring guests accept the group guidelines.
Transport 🚗 Lift-sharing may be arranged via event comments. Fuel contributions appreciated.
Booking & attendance 📋 Places are first-come, first-served. Please update your RSVP if plans change (ideally 48 hours’ notice). Persistent no-shows may lead to removal from the group
