About us

The Tauranga Bitcoin SV Meetup has been bringing people together since 2017 to make sense of Bitcoin, blockchain and the fast-moving world of digital assets — and it’s now online, so anyone can join from anywhere.
For years we met in person around the Bay of Plenty. Those evenings built a real community, but meeting in one place at one time left out everyone who couldn’t be in the room — people elsewhere in Aotearoa, and plenty from overseas who wanted in.
So rather than move the group onto someone else’s video service, I built our own. BsvMeet is a browser-based meeting room, made as part of the BsvBsv project, that lets anyone join the discussion with a single link — no app, no account, no sign-up. Same open, hands-on format we’ve had since 2017, now without the walls of a physical venue.
The purpose hasn’t changed: bring people together to learn, question and explore Bitcoin. What’s changed is who can be in the room — now that’s anyone, anywhere.
