Thursday Discussion: Digital Intimacy

Details

see below note on attendance limit

Over the last ~100 years technology has changed immensely, and it's had a major impact in how we communicate and form social relationships.

How do you think this has impacted us? Is it overall an improvement?

How does modern technology impact our relationships with friends, family, or romantic partners?

Can fully virtual socialization ever fully replace in-person socialization?

Are there generational differences? Do kids today experience this new world/ technology in a fundamentally different way than we do?

new attendance limit: we love how popular our discussion nights have become, but large groups just aren’t as conducive to worthwhile discussion, therefore we are instituting a limit — if you cannot attend, please change your status to give someone else the opportunity to come. Thank you!

Join us this Thursday for a discussion on these questions & more when we talk about The Meaning of Life!

Run-Down of the evening:

  • 30 mins: Casual Intros
  • 1 hr 15 mins: Dig into the Topic and Share Thoughts
  • 15 mins: Wind Down and Wrap it Up

About the venue:
Let's show some love to the local venue! While they don't offer on-site food, you're welcome to bring your own snacks. Convenient street parking is available right next to them, and a parking lot is at our disposal. Your support means a lot! The venue closes at midnight, so feel free to stay.

Please remember:

  1. Treat everyone with kindness and respect, regardless of differences in opinions, backgrounds, or beliefs.
  2. We kindly ask that our events and interactions remain centered around building friendships and socializing, rather than pursuing romantic relationships or dating. Let's keep the vibe friendly and inclusive for everyone to enjoy!
  3. Embrace diverse perspectives and be open to new ideas and discussions.
  4. The safety and comfort of all members during events are valued, remember to respect personal boundaries and preferences.
  5. Respect others' privacy.
  6. Drink responsibly.

**We're open to constructive feedback. Don't hesitate to shoot a message to any of the organizers
