Tampa Bay Inventors Council - www.tbic.us bi-monthly Meetup

Details
Greetings Inventors,
This week we meet at AMRoC on Wednesday night for a special presentation from our own Bob Van Wyk, who is an independent inventor who develops, patents and licenses medical devices. He’s been doing this successfully for the past twenty years and has licensed several patents in the field. On Wednesday he will discuss bringing an invention to market without having it stolen or corrupted and will share what he has learned about protecting inventions using provisional and non-provisional patent applications and NDA's. He’ll also share his latest invention and how he’s protecting the product while bringing it to market himself.
Bob is an engineer and journeyman tool and die maker and his first successful (revenue producing) invention was a laser-etched, light-up Christmas ornament that he licensed to the world's largest producer of Christmas ornaments. Recent activities include a method and system for doing a vasectomy in under four minutes with no restrictions on physical activity, and a family of electrosurgical devices for sports medicine. He will also discuss some promising patented products that failed to make it to the market despite his best efforts. We can all learn from his efforts so be sure to join us this Wednesday night starting at 6:15 at AMRoC Fab Lab 2154 University Mall in Tampa. Those who can’t make the effort to be there may join us on Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84574966970
Also, it is that time of year when we elect a new board of directors so please let me know if you stand up for the council and put your hat in the ring for our election later this month! We need fresh ideas and folks willing to make this council better! Please help fill the nine positions on the board!
I hope to see you all on Wednesday night, 9/13/23 at 6:15.
