Blues dance beginner workshop

Hello creative friends in Tbilisi!

This Sunday evening on December 10 from 20:00 to 21h45, at the Body Ballet Studio, we will be having a blues dance workshop. Beginners are welcome!

Blues, the ancestor of jazz, is a simple, easy to learn dance style which focuses on creativity and expression through improvisation, body language and good connection. It can be danced on a variety of music styles and its principles can also help you learn and improve other dance styles, especially those related to swing and jazz.

In addition to a short warm-up, this workshop will teach you the basic steps, a few easy to do moves, and the basic principles of connection and musicality to dance with someone else.

It is open to everyone, no matter your level or style of dance, and exercises will be adapted to the people present. Bring indoors shoes and a water bottle. The fee for the workshop is 15 laris.

The studio is located in the courtyard at the back of 91 Dimitri Uznadze. As it can be tricky to find if you've never been there before, here are some instructions to find us (check the photo in the event or at https://t.me/blues_dance_tbilisi/12 for more details):

1. There is a road leading to a parking to the right of the building 91, go down that road past the barrier.
2. Keep walking and you will see a passage to the right going under the building like in the picture.
3. You will reach the inner courtyard, to the back and to the right, there is a fence with a sign for the studio, go there.
4. Behind the fence there are some stairs, go down the stairs and the studio is behind the door.
