About us
Mantra:
Share what you know, learn what you don't, grow with a community.
Why Make Another Meetup Group?
While the twin cities has many wonderful data science and analytics groups that do some of these things, none do all of the following at the same time.
- Welcome newcomers transitioning from spreadsheets/spss to programming
- Engage veterans looking to stay at the cutting edge
- Partner with local nonprofits to harness data for good
In short, we aim to build a data science learning and networking community for everyone that makes a positive impact by harnessing our numbers and unique skills.
Phase 1: Prepare
Find the space + people who want to build a community and educate
Phase 2: Educate
Provide engaging, practical learning experiences while fostering a welcoming community.
Phase 3: Integrate
Build strong connections with local organizations by offering impactful collaborations, such as hackathons, and emphasize learning by engaging in real-world projects as a community.
We are currently in Phase 1. Reach out to the group organizer to join. Our current action items are building a survey to see what the community wants + sharing this group to get the word out and increase our reach.
