Come explore and visualize the climate data provided or of your choice.

We'll warm up with one local dataset: the average temperature at Minneapolis-St. Paul for every year from 1939 to 2025, from NOAA. It's 87 rows and two columns. See it as warming stripes (one stripe per year, blue for cooler, red for warmer) at tcplot.com/climate, and download the CSV there.
Or bring your own: lake ice-out dates, first frost, snowfall totals, the day the lilacs bloom in your yard. Any tool is welcome, whether that's D3, ggplot2, Tableau, Excel, or colored pencils. No climate science background needed.

What to bring:

  • A laptop if you have one (paper charts are just as welcome)
  • A climate dataset you're curious about (optional)

Saturday, December 12th, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
The Coffee Shop NE, 2852 Johnson St NE, Minneapolis
Hope to see you there!
