Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge: Join the Planning Committee!

Details
Want to make vegan cuisine accessible and delicious in the Twin Cities? Come join the team behind one of the most exciting culinary events of the year!

Event Details: Join us for a hybrid meeting to learn about the Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge and discover how you can become part of our dynamic event committee. With support, the committee takes on tasks ranging from restaurant recruitment to press outreach to social media promotion. Whether you’re a longtime vegan, plant-curious, or simply love great food, your perspective is invaluable to our mission.
How to Join the event: This informational event is hybrid, with an option to join via the Zoom link or to join in person (directions here) for snacks at the CAA office.
Committee Schedule: Future committee meetings will also be on Thursdays from 6pm-7pm, with most of them being hybrid. Committee meetings run through Thursday, September 11, when we have an in-person celebratory dinner together.
What is the Twin Cities Vegan Chef Challenge? Throughout August, local restaurants compete to create innovative plant-based dishes that showcase the incredible possibilities of vegan cuisine. Diners from across the metro area dine out to try these creations and rate the dishes they try, with the winning restaurant receiving a grand cash prize at our awards ceremony during Twin Cities Veg Fest in September.
Why Join Our Committee?
- Make a direct impact on the Twin Cities food scene — for the past two years, a third of competing restaurants have kept their menu items available in the long-term
- Develop valuable event planning and marketing skills
- Give some well-deserved love to the delicious vegan food in the Twin Cities scene
- Connect with passionate food lovers and sustainability and animal rights advocates
- Be part of a welcoming community and connect with other committee members
This Year’s Exciting Addition: Pending restaurant interest, we’ll be hosting a special in-person collaborative event in August where multiple chefs will sample their challenge dishes to voters at one venue!
Committee Opportunities Include:
- Restaurant recruitment and relations
- Marketing and promotional material design
- Event coordination and execution
- Community outreach
- Social media posting
No previous experience required—just bring your enthusiasm and ideas!
