Teaching While Tired: A Group for Educators Running on Empty

This will be a 6-week psychoeducation and support group beginning February 25, with the final session on April 1.

The group will focus on:
-Decreasing the impact of burnout
-Increasing resilience
-Coping within the workplace
-Nervous system regulation
-Exploring the impact of larger systems and power dynamics on educators
-Setting boundaries at work
-Deconstructing the idea that “self-care” can only happen outside of the workday

This group may be a good fit for individuals working in education at any grade level or stage of their career. Participants may be experiencing burnout, questioning their longevity in the profession, or wanting to proactively prevent burnout. It may be especially helpful for educators who feel discouraged by oversimplified self-care advice and are carrying so much during and beyond the school day that they have little energy left for themselves.

The group will be hosted by Alli Roy LCSW, a local therapist specializing in working with helping professionals.
