A whole leaf tea experience! No CTC (Crushing, Tearing and Curling) of our leaves allowed, as we will be in the shade provided by trees in the park :) We will be in the center of the small Harbour square park which is a 7 minute walk south of Union station (you could get off a streetcar at the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal if you prefer), and its almost a certainty we will have more teaware than anyone else there, so it should be easy to find us. When in doubt look for a shiny teapot. Our teas will be brewed GONG FU STYLE, so bring (and show off!) your own tea tasting cup if you have one (if not, we will have extras). Those tiny little cups will force you to put all your senses to the test! Now lets look at the contenders: Our first Tea is an Assam Black tea from India: FTGFOP1 (Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe 1stgrade), aka the highest quality Orange Pekoe. Our Second tea comes to us from China, a Sinensis Black tea called Zheng He Gong Fu. The most popular China black tea sold at some tea stores. And more Tea! A Moonlight White from Yunnan. Its light, its white, and its ready to rrrumble! But seriously, tea is the most peaceful beverage there is. It can calm the spirit or lead to an understanding of life. Brewing tea in East Asia is a fine art. Monica Xian (a certified tea sommelier) will presenting us that art using her fancy teaware. There will be no charge for this event. However, a gift of $2-$5 to cover costs would be appreciated. What should I bring?: 1. Friendliness to others 2. Kindness to nature 3. A passion for tea 4. Your tea tasting cup, if you have one and the story behind it if there is one. Schedule: 16:50-17:00 Mingling. Each of us has our own tea story! 17:00-19:00 Tea Presentation by Edward and Monica 19:00-19:30 Questions, Answers & more mingling. Enjoy a perfect cup in the imperfect world, Edward Certified Chinese tea sommelier & tea reviewing specialist
