Chris Allgrove
Chris is the Director and Co-Founder of Ingenium Biometrics and is a thought leader in the Biometrics & Identity space. He has a PhD in Electronics and has significant experience across the public and private sectors.
His talk will cover the way in which deep fakes are used both in biometric applications and more widely, including deep fake videos of public figures, celebrities and politicians. He will very briefly cover the way in which deep fakes are created, what the trends are in the development of the technology, protection from deep fakes and what the next few years are likely to bring.

Mevan Babakar
Mevan is the News and Information Credibility Lead at Google, working to tackle misinformation globally. She was previously deputy CEO of Full Fact, the UK’s independent fact checking charity. In 2023 she was selected by the Obama Foundation as an Obama Leader for Europe for her work in the field.
Mevan's talk will cover mis/disinformation landscape, how it has changed over time and how it will change with the advent of generative AI. Together we will look at some of the new tools and technology coming from Google to support the public to check things for themselves, and some sneak peeks at some features in beta that are being built for journalists, fact checkers and expert users around the world.
