Join charities and digital specialists for the next Social Tech Meet - this time in Newcastle

Our Social Tech Meets bring the social sector together with the tech sector - to promote innovation, collaboration and digital transformation.

We bring together organisations with a social purpose and digital specialists to:

  • Identify problems that could be solved with new technology
  • Explore potential technology solutions
  • Create networking opportunities for people in the social and digital sectors
  • Bridge the digital divide and build new partnerships
  • Share learning, resources and good practice

Speaking at this event are Dan Ebanks - Social Value Exchange and Rob Mathieson - ION

Dan Ebanks is coming all the way from London to join us at this event. Dan will be talking about how he has developed an innovative online solution to help local communities get something back from the social value act. All public sector commissioners are required to consider social value when they put a contract out – but in reality this doesn’t always happen. The Social Value Exchange makes it easier for commissioners to judge social value in tendering processes, and also takes into account what local communities actually need and want.

Rob Mathieson is Managing Director of ION and will be talking about their work with a charity to help reduce risk for people experiencing domestic violence.Come along for a drink and some pizza, and have a look around Breeze Creatives' space.

The event will run from 6 - 8.30pm and there will be plenty of time for networking.

This event is part of VONNE's programme of support to the VCSE sector for Innovation, Governance and Leadership.
