The goal of the problem solving workshop is to actively develop your ability to design algorithms for challenging problems in interviews.

The format is as follows: the instructor presents one or more problems, and attendees work in groups of 2-3 people of similar skill level to independently come up with solutions. At the end, the instructor presents their recommended solutions. There are always tasks of varied difficulty levels, so this meetup is suitable for attendees of almost all levels. The minimum prerequisites are that you know how to program and understand the basics of big-O complexity analysis. Naturally, solving the more difficult problems may require considerable additional knowledge beyond this.

Please bring pen and paper to this meetup, since you will need it for brainstorming ideas and as scratch space.

This is an intense "workshop"-style session. If you come, come prepared to be challenged. The learning experience can be uncomfortable sometimes, because you have to struggle through problems and that's how you learn. This isn't a class where someone will spoon-feed you solutions that you will soon forget; it's a workshop where you learn to invent solutions that you will then remember. It's for people who want to be active participants in the problem solving process.
