What actually matters in a GitHub portfolio in 2026?
Badges? Tests? Architecture docs? Polished demos? Or just shipping something real?

This is a 1-hour, small-group Zoom discussion for software engineers who want thoughtful, practical feedback on GitHub portfolios—especially in today’s AI-accelerated hiring market.

This is a facilitated peer discussion.

What we’ll cover:
• What hiring managers actually notice in GitHub profiles
• Signals that are hard to fake (tests, CI, docs, architecture clarity)
• How much polish is “enough” vs. wasted effort
• AI-assisted code: what helps, what hurts, and how to present it honestly
• Portfolios for different goals:
– Job search
– Contracting / consulting
– Open-source credibility
• When not having a portfolio is totally reasonable

Format:
• 5–10 minutes of framing & prompts
• Open discussion
• Optional live repo walkthroughs if people want feedback
• No pressure to speak or share anything
Who this is for:
• Mid-level to senior engineers
• Any stack: iOS, frontend, backend, platform, etc.
• People actively interviewing or just recalibrating
• Anyone overwhelmed by “perfect portfolio” advice
What this is not:
• Not LeetCode
• Not resume rewriting
• Not a recruiter event
• Not a flex contest

Cameras optional. Come curious, not polished.
