Find out the difference between classic cloud services and privacy-respecting ones. Aleksander will interview Johan, an experienced Founder & CEO operating a public cloud provider based in Sweden, an Open Infrastructure Foundation Board Member and an initiator of the Swedish organisation representing GAIA-X, a European collaborative project for cloud infrastructure that aims to increase European self-sufficiency in digital infrastructure. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to the discussion and make new connections with other Tech Leaders from the US and Europe.

At the beginning of the meetup Aleksander will briefly introduce the speaker. Johan will then share his insights on privacy and digital sovereignty from the European perspective. We'll then brainstorm on the subject – make sure your camera and mic are working! Finally, we'll have a networking session in breakout rooms.😀

▶︎ About the Guest Speaker ◀︎

For almost 20 years Johan Christenson has held the position of the CEO of an independent IT infrastructure-as-a-service provider in Europe, utilising the OpenStack technology and serving more than 2000 clients around the world. He has also founded, built from scratch and sold multiple other companies. In addition to the IT infrastructure industry, he has been involved in the mobile gaming industry as a founder, chairman and board member. His ventures have been backed by leading VCs from the US and Europe, such as Benchmark Capital and Balderton Capital. He is an Open Infrastructure Foundation Board Member and an initiator of the Swedish organisation representing GAIA-X, a project initiated by the German and French governments to increase digital sovereignty of Europe. Johan holds a graduate degree in Engineering.

Aleksander Korzyński is a project manager, software architect, DevOps engineer and the author of the upcoming book "The IT Whisperer: How to Avoid Delays & Disasters in Your Projects". He ensures that your project is delivered on time, on budget and satisfies business needs. With over 10 years of experience in the IT industry, he holds a master's degree in Computer Science, worked for HP (Hewlett-Packard) and contracted to the University of Cambridge in the UK. He is currently a freelance engineer for Priceline.com through the Toptal agency.
