Come and join us for the second TechRise Meetup on Thursday, 1st June! We’ll be having a panel discussion on “The Power of Vulnerability" followed by a Speed Networking session. Read on to find out more 🙌🏾

We will probably nip to a local pub after to continue mingling, but there is no obligation to drink, we are not an alcohol-focused group 🤗

The Panel

Our panel discussion will explore vulnerability in the workplace and the following subtopics:

• How should leaders model vulnerability in the workplace
• Different perspectives of vulnerability; as a parent, as a career changer, as a business owner, as a community builder, as a woman, as a neurodivergent person etc
• What stops us from being able to vulnerable at work
• The effect of remote work on vulnerability

Our panel will be hosted by Parul Singh, and we have an incredible lineup for our panel with very varied backgrounds, career paths and experiences:

Jess Stewart, Software Engineer at BAE Systems
Josh Cheetham, Co-founder and CEO of Altbe

Speed Networking

We listened to your feedback from the last event, and we've put a speed networking session in place after the panel to help you meet new people in the community in a bit more structured and less awkward way!

We’ll ask you to pick a few sticker prompts (we also have some blank ones). Then we’ll ask people to form groups of 3 and use the sticker prompts to start a chat. We’ll mix the groups up every 6 minutes for around 45 mins.

We totally appreciate this isn't everyone's cup of tea, so as an alternative, you can stay in the kitchen to mingle on a smaller scale, or you're welcome to shoot off after the panel ❤️

The event will be hosted at DiSH. Please put “43 Lloyd Street” into your maps, the entrance is not on Lincoln Square.

Food and drinks
Food will be provided at the beginning of the event around 6:00pm
We’ll have a good variety of drinks: soft drinks, diet drinks, wine, beer etc so please ensure you include any dietaries in your RSVP.
