What we’re about
Tech Startups, Ventures & Operators is a practitioner-led community bringing together startup founders, operators, product and growth leaders, venture capital investors, angel and private equity professionals, and the broader ecosystem that builds, funds and scales technology companies.
Our focus is on the real-world journeys behind building and operating startups from idea to scale, exploring strategy, product, funding, execution, resilience and the realities of life inside high-growth companies.
We run:
• Bi-monthly in-person meetups and founder/operator sessions in London
• Occasional online events for our wider community
• Collaboration with related communities across the Community Stack ecosystem
Whether you’re:
• an early-stage or experienced founder
• an operator working in product, engineering, growth or operations
• part of a VC, angel or PE investment team
• or a partner supporting the startup ecosystem
You’re very welcome here.
Our events explore:
• Founder journeys, lessons learned and “what I’d do differently”
• Scaling teams, product, engineering & operations
• Fundraising, venture relationships and investor perspectives
• Go-to-market, growth strategy and commercial execution
• Leadership, resilience, failure and recovery
• The realities of startup life — not just the highlights
We prioritise honest conversations, practical insight and peer-to-peer learning over pitch theatre or sales content.
This community is part of the Community Stack Ecosystem, meaning members can also discover and join our wider communities across Cloud, Data & AI, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Leadership and more. You can explore and join other ecosystems and events here.
Members are automatically subscribed to our weekly community newsletter via Meetup, where we share upcoming events, speaker opportunities, ecosystem updates and reflections from across the network. Selected talks and highlights are also published through our YouTube channel.
We’re always looking for:
• Speakers — founder stories, operator insights, venture perspectives & case studies
• Hosts — organisations able to support community meetups and roundtables
• Sponsors — venue, refreshments, recording or accessibility support
• Collaborators — startup networks, venture groups and ecosystem partners
If you’d like to speak, host, sponsor, or get involved, please reach out via Meetup or connect with Ethan Sumner on LinkedIn.
Community Values:
This group follows the Community Stack Code of Conduct.
We aim to create a respectful, inclusive and supportive environment where founders, operators and investors can share openly, learn from one another, and help strengthen the wider startup ecosystem.
