This talk will be a thorough examination of Bigtable, where it came from, how it's used, and how it works as a service. We'll discuss the underlying architecture and how it scales. We'll also discuss what Bigtable is really good for and not so good for, and help everyone to understand the best way to leverage it as a central piece of a big data toolkit.
Speaker: Carter Page
Carter is the Senior Engineering Manager of Bigtable and Cloud Bigtable at Google in New York City. For the last 20 years, Carter has worked on high-performance distributed software across several industries, including media, finance, and education. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and enjoys sailing and winemaking.
