THE SETTING
Technology has become a huge and growing sector of the Vancouver economy.
Technology as a product, as a service, as a profession, as a support function, as a competitive advantage or sometimes just as a hobby.
On the down side, technology is a nemesis for some; it is a limit to growth. Because of the high demand, technology talent has become harder to find. Information about technology comes at us fast and furious, but it is equal parts truth and hype; fact and fiction.
Ironically, *good reliable advice* is harder to find, and more important than ever. As always, the best advice and learning comes from trusted people in your network. There is so much to know, that almost everyone has something useful to share that can be a huge help to others.
SO WHAT?
There are some pretty talented folks in our Vancouver Community who are creating and applying technology in significant ways. Closely-related is the technology entrepreneurship sector that is spawning great new opportunities.
This meetup is primarily to convene this powerful network - to catalyze the interactions that are otherwise prevented by space and time. Let this be an efficient place where little nuggets of golden information are exchanged, and good advice is in high concentration.
