Open & Shift-Left Observability for Reliability Management & Testing

Details
In this "Tech Talks Basel: Grafana & Friends edition" meetup, we will explore and illustrate how open and shift-left observability technologies (Grafana) can be used to improve DevOps teams' adoption and efficiently implement reliability testing, including resilience testing with "failure flags," within DevOps pipelines.
From Google to Open Observability – My Personal Journey, by Havard Block
Havard shares his personal transition from working with proprietary observability solutions at Google to embracing open-source alternatives. He will share the lessons learned, the challenges faced, and why open observability is key.
Reliability Testing: Combining Load, Fault Injection, and OTEL-Driven Observability Health Checks, by Rouaa Benayed & Olivier Mann.
Reliability testing is not about load generation—it’s about actively testing system resilience. Rouaa & Olivier will dive into how teams can integrate load testing with Grafana K6, fault injection at application layer with Gremlin Failure Flags, and Open Telemetry (OTEL) health checks into DevOps delivery pipelines.
After the talks, stick around for networking, over bites and drinks!
*** Please arrive 10 minutes early. We will welcome you at the main entrance and accompany you to the auditorium, where the Tech Talks start at 17:00***
