Considering An App in Progress: Design, Develop, Debrief, Discuss

Details
Greg Venech and Seth Lasky, one a 2014 graduate of UAlbany and the other to graduate in 2015, have been working on an app that they'd like to demo and get some feedback on. They are creative, inventive, enthusiastic with excellent design and development skills; they say they're just learning, but aren't we all? So please attend; there should be lots of good points for discussion. Here's how they describe their project:
"We're building an app for clubs with two different types of users. On one side guests can request songs, see events going on in their area, and maintain a profile. Club-goers can also view the list of songs requested and rate the songs (i.e. thumbs up/down).
On the other side, DJs can see the requested requested songs and how many people have liked or disliked the song. If a DJ decides to play the song, then they can also mark the song as played which would disable people from requesting, liking, or disliking that particular song. DJ's will also be able to see statistics from that club or venue. For example, seeing what artists, genres, or songs have been requested most there can give DJs an idea of what type of music to play.
As of right now there are four of us on the project, two DJs (one of whom had the idea), and two developers (Seth and I). Our goal is to launch a beta version of the app in a few major clubs in Manhattan later this summer. We have a couple versions of it going as well as some future designs/ideas.
We'd love to hear any feedback relating to the app on topics such as design and functioning. We'd also appreciate any advice on getting into the App/Play Stores as well as comments on choosing a server/hosting plan."
