In technical workplaces, it can seem like only a select few are set up for success. Sometimes it's hard to feel confident that you're capable and that your contributions matter, especially if you don't fit the archetype of success.

You’ve been feeling like a fraud at work - like you’ve tricked everyone into thinking you’re smarter, more talented, or more competent than you really are. You feel like you’re an imposter. At work or in your relationships, no matter how much positive feedback you get, you worry that you’re going to be found out. You are not alone! Most people experience these thoughts, but what happens when you can’t seem to shake it?

What you’re feeling is impostor syndrome. Imposter syndrome reflects a belief that you’re inadequate and undeserving of success, despite evidence that indicates your achievements resulted from your skills and hard work. How can you overcome this? What can organizations do to beat imposter syndrome in the workplace? In this interactive, skill-building workshop, attendees will learn to recognize and challenge imposter syndrome and practice new techniques for feeling less fake and more deserving of success.

The workshop will be lead by Shadeen Francis, MFT. She’ll share her expertise in community building for organizations, multicultural competence, healthy relationships, and healing from trauma to help us unpack our impostor syndrome. Her work and curricula are implemented nationally, and her signature combination of warmth, humour, and compassion has allowed her to develop interprofessional training programs that raise the bar for humanistic healthcare. In partnership with TechYes!, she will extend the scope of her audience to include folks in the tech industry. Shadeen’s belief is that the world is built on the strengths of communities. This worldview has propelled her to empower people to have difficult conversations with respect and understanding.

Dinner will be served at 6:30pm.
Workshop begins at 7:00pm.
