Science Hack Day PDX is a FREE event, happening on September 9 - 10 at Portland State University. All skill levels and backgrounds are welcome, and this event is entirely open to the public!

You don't need a team, project, or idea to attend. Just show up and we will help you find an interesting project to work on!

What is Science Hack Day?

Science Hack Day is an international event that brings experts in technology together with researchers and science enthusiasts to spark innovation, collaboration, and a better understanding of how science works. Science Hack Day PDX joins a global community of over 50 events in 30 cities.

What kind of projects do people work on?

Projects have included: software, data visualizations that help scientists explain their work, fabrication of specialized hardware, interactive technologies, and whimsical ideas like a 3D printed LaCroix delivery drone and a banana piano (made by a 6 year old!).

Who is it for? Is it for me?

Everyone! Participants include scientists, students, software engineers, members of the global Open Source Hardware Association, parents, kids, data scientists, graphic designers, DIY science enthusiasts, civic tech enthusiasts, and more!

To find out more, and meet the organizers and other attendees, come to our meet-up on Aug 10 @ Laurelhurst Park (Picnic Area A), 6pm - 9pm! We will brainstorm projects and build DIY eclipse viewers for the upcoming solar eclipse.
