TechFolks talk about test development
Details
If you're a developer, then you should also be a tester of your own code. This evening we have two talks that touch base with developers on the state of writing automated tests. But viewpoints from non-developers are also much appreciated.
Today's agenda:
18:00 - 19:00 doors are open; bites, drinks & mingle
19:00 first talk
19:40 small break
20:00 second talk
20:40 - 21:00(ish) mingle with some more drinks
This meetup will be hosted at Travix on the 14th floor of the UP Office Building. Reception can be found on the 2nd floor.
Parking options:
• Piet Hein garage (Piet Heinkade 27, 1019 BL Amsterdam), located near the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ and it has an exit that ends up in the Up Office Building (where Travix is located).
• The parking garage for the Mövenpick Hotel (Piet Heinkade 11, 1019 BR Amsterdam), which is more expensive. You should take the same entrance, but keep to the left for the Piet Hein garage.

---------- First talk ----------
"Consumer-driven contract testing"
by Daria Golub https://www.linkedin.com/in/dgolub/?locale=en_US
Do you build microservices? Have you ever introduced a change in one service and found out that it broke another? In this talk Daria will share concept of consumer-driven contract testing, why it should be a part of integration tests and accompany it with live demo.
This talk will be agnostic to tech stack.
Daria is a back-end developer in Travix and likes to share knowledge with community.
-------- Second talk --------
"Is your code ready for testing?"
by Ralph Ligtenberg https://www.linkedin.com/in/ralphligtenberg/
Surely you've heard about Test-Driven Development, but do you use it? And do you like it? In this talk, we look at what TDD is, what the shortcomings of TDD are and what you could be doing instead.
Ralph is engineering software at Travix for almost four years now. He's been writing stories on Medium for over a year and is ready to share his thoughts with a live audience.
