OMG in 2050: Exploring the future of Tech for Good
Details
We’re doing something a bit special for our next event, we’re transporting you 33 years into the future to explore the impact of Tech for Good on London and our lives in the year 2050.
OMG 2050 is a joint event brought to you by Tech for Good meetup and Tech London Advocates (TLA), to celebrate London Tech Week and the launch of the new TLA Tech for Good working group. It'll also launch our Summer of Tech for Good!

Through storytelling and talks we’ll explore the potential of tech for good to impact our future lives, and dig into issues of ethics and responsibility in the design and development of tech, now and in the future.
We'll be hearing talks from:
• Georgie Frost, broadcast journalist and presenter, transporting us into the year 2050.
• Steve Lorimer, Smart London Policy at the Greater London Authority, on the future of data in the city.
• Elliott Engers, Founder and CEO of Infinity Health, talking about responsible approaches to future technology and healthcare.
• Ingrid Marsh, Founder of BustingBiases.com and WomenWithVoices, looking at how bias affects our perceptions and the tech we create.
And a panel discussion from:
• Rob McCargow, AI programme lead at PwC, delving into the issues of ethics in artificial intelligence.
• Catherine Miller, Director of Policy at Doteveryone, on creating a set of standards for responsible tech development.
• Lynsey Smyth, Lead User Experience Designer at Wellcome Trust, talking about the role of user centred design in the future of tech.
• Aurelien Simon, Digital Catapult, on tech for good and immersive innovation.
If you’ve got something to say on this topic then do get in touch (jessica@bethnalgreenventures.com) - we’re keen to hear from other potential speakers.
And as usual there’ll be room for your community announcements, a chance to share news and opportunities relevant to the tech for good community.
We’re very grateful for Impact Hub Westminster for hosting this event - you guys are great.
We’re looking for some Tech for Good volunteers to film or photograph the event - get in touch (evelyn@bethnalgreenventures.com) if you can help.
Finally, if you have any problems with the £3 fee or PayPal then let us know - we don't want it to be a barrier to entry.
See you there!
