A bit more about our demo companies:

Gymnut (http://gymnut.co/)

Gymnut is a fitness marketplace focused in connecting trainers, athletes, and fitness brands with the people who need them, their products, and services (i.e. people looking to get fit or fitness enthusiasts).

Currently, these trainers turn to social media to build followings, which they monetize by marketing their online training products and services, largely by e-mail. Gymnut offers these trainers an e-commerce powered fitness store, that is ready within minutes, as well as the tools necessary to offer their workout and diet plans, and track their clients.

Having been in a closed beta with over 200 trainers, we recently launched our product to the market, beginning our data collection on end user behavior with our current minimally viable product. As we collect more data on the market, and begin building out our product to fit those needs, we will need to develop a framework for collecting the data that matters most, and how to analyze it based on our goals.

MealSurfers (https://www.mealsurfers.com/)

MealSurfers is an online marketplace connecting local cooks and hungry Canadians. If you can cook, you can use our platform to sell your food and grow your brand. We are also adding other resources which can allow you to cater, host dinner parties, and teach your unique cooking methods to our customers. If you're hungry, you can find cheaper and healthier meals right in your neighbourhood! Check us out at http://www.mealsurfers.com .

Baron Biosystems (http://www.baronbiosys.com/)

Baron Biosystems develops Xert and Bioshift.

Xert determines the limits of athletic performance. Using a proprietary exercise data modelling algorithm, Xert helps athletes discover, track and improve their fitness. Xert is available as both an online and mobile app.

Bioshift, a patent-pending automatic shifting system, determines the best gear in any given situation and shift gears for you. By automatically shifting gears, you can just pedal with the freedom of having the most comfortable and efficient gear selected at all times.

Ritual (https://www.ritual.co/)

Available to urban professionals in downtown Toronto, Ritual is the order and pay app that saves you valuable time everyday, eliminating lineups, loose change, and paper receipts. With coffee and lunch options from 200+ of the best restaurants and cafes in your neighbourhood, you can now step in and out of your favourite spots in seconds and enjoy your morning coffee & lunch hour effortlessly.

MenuSnap (http://menusnap.ca/)

MenuSnap is a new startup dedicated to promoting restaurants and bars through social media. Using professional photographers, we capture the food, drinks, culture, ambiance and neighbourhood then advertise through various social media platforms using high resolution photographs. In the digital age, potential guests are constantly looking online for photographs, reviews or some sort of online presence before they make their decision to visit your establishment. MenuSnap puts your venue in spotlight by showcasing everything you have to offer. We do all the socializing for you! Everything from hashtags and captions to responding to comments from potential guests; it is all taken care of. We also do targeted marketing to people within the direct vicinity of your restaurant.

Trainer+ (http://trainerpl.us/)

Trainer+ makes software and mobile apps that make it easy for trainers to create, share, track and analyze workout programs for their clients. Our goal is to make personal trainers and strength coaches more accessible and affordable to their clients by closing the feedback loop between them, then capturing and analyzing the relevant data and sharing it visually with both sides. We do the math and science for fitness professionals so they can focus on getting results for more people towards their fitness goals.

CARROT pass (http://www.carrotpass.com/)

With a unique focus on personalized fitness and its patented blend of technologies, CARROT PASS promises to change the role smart phones play in incentivizing people to lead more active lifestyles. Essentially, CARROT rewards users financially just for walking!

CARROT serves as a pedometer and gives users one Reward Point for each step taken. These points are redeemable for on-app specials and at CARROT-registered businesses for exclusive offers and discounts – rewards earned simply for walking, running and climbing stairs! Restaurants, retailers, salons, cafes and even golf courses are among the first businesses to register with CARROT.

The mobile app, which was launched earlier this year in the Detroit area, is a free download on the Apple and Google Play Stores (search “Carrot Pass”). More information about CARROT is available at http://www.CARROTpass.com .

MizPiz (https://www.mizpiz.com/)

MizPiz is an IT service provider to restaurants. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies, machine learning and gamification techniques, MizPiz develops branded, personalized, and mobile friendly software solutions that can handle restaurant's’ in-house and online IT needs.

MizPiz has developed a set of cloud-based services that can be accessed by restaurants through MizPiz software to successfully run their businesses either inside their stores or online.
