Sappho Hansen Smythe is a professional eccentric and host at House of VR. She has spent the past year performing in immersive theatre shows, teaching vocal technique, and travelling to international conferences (most recently CES) to promote realistic avatars in the virtual world with itsme3d! She can be found on social media at @sapphosvoice.
Speakers:
Alan Smithson is an entrepreneur and investor who invented Emulator, the world’s first touchscreen DJ System; used by Linkin Park, Armin Van Buuren, Microsoft, Sony, Heineken and more. Now CEO of MetaVRse, North America’s leading virtual and augmented reality consulting firm, Alan has become a leader in the business applications for AR/VR. Alan provides insight to retail and enterprise companies in this exploding field.
Paige Goodman is a pop culture and film lover who specializes in virtual reality programming from a film festival perspective. She recently joined the board of directors for Breakthroughs Film Festival (BFF), which supports emerging female filmmakers. Last year, Paige partnered with BFF and Dames Making Games to curate a VR exhibit that showcased the work of emerging female developers.
Mike Sevigny: is the co-founder and CTO of Torus Media Labs based in Toronto, Canada. His work as a visual effects artist brought him to develop the VR tools he needed to stay on the cutting edge. Those tools are now CANVAS 360™, essential for VR compositing in Adobe After Effects. Mike's work contributed to the success of numerous Canadian and International series and films (imdb). Stereoscopic 360 is now his main focus as a developer and as an artist.
Ana Serrano is the Chief Digital Officer of the Canadian Film Centre and Founder of CFC Media Lab, the world-renowned institute for interactive storytelling created in 1997. Serrano is driving the digital transformation of the CFC into a unique blend of talent, product and company accelerator and creative production house. Most recently, she launched Canada's first digital entertainment accelerator IDEABOOST and serves as its Managing Director.
