Meeting Topic: Take a Walk on the Dark Side
Joe Anderson is a certified Principal Penetration Tester and Senior Cybersecurity Analyst at TechSolve, specializing in offensive security, risk assessments, controls testing, and cybersecurity strategy to meet and exceed compliance requirements. He’s a frequent speaker, Ohio Cyber Reservist, and FBI Citizens Academy alum passionate about information security and technology and enjoys sharing his insights with others.
In this presentation, you’ll hear how Joe helped a manufacturer respond to a data breach involving the Cl0P ransomware group, after a three-letter government agency alerted them that sensitive data had been publicly disclosed. He’ll explain how he safely navigated the dark web to locate and recover the exposed information and share practical techniques you can use to protect yourself if you ever find yourself in a similar situation.
Joe plans to include a demo which will take some time. People are welcome to bring their laptops and follow-along if they wish.
